Hey guys,
Ok we've been trying to figure out how to get the Rosegarden setup working on our new linux box. Apparently you can use soft synths such as Timidity and Fluidsynth with it, but you have to turn them on first before starting Rosegarden. The the idea of actually creating sound fonts from the ground up as opposed to grabbing a pre-designed sound seems a bit strange, but that's the nature of the beast I suppose.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about here, we are basically tired of paying the Micro$oft Tax and have decided to try working with Linux as our main studio Operating System. We use Fedora Core 7 to be exact. I know Fedora Core 8 is out, but when we built this machine, FC7 was the latest Linux Red Hat flavour. Anyway, Rosegarden, FluidSynth and Timidity are music software on Linux. We will not try and defend our decision especially against those in favor of that fruity company that thinks that everybody needs to fit in the same box as everybody else.

Actually switching to this software suite is quite fun. We'll soon be popping off some more music. Stay Tuned.
