It's Here! It's Here! The new Album is released. Well pre-released to the BandX site anyway. Look in the MP3's pages to grab all of Planet.
We are sending 5 copies of a CD to CD Baby right now so that we can get Planet onm Itunes and other online music stores.
We hope you enjoy them, we really had fun making it.
Ok, I know I said 2 weeks, but other things have come up to take our time away from the album..."Planet" still needs to have its final 2 songs written and the vocals still need to be added and mixed, however the ten tracks we have right now are phenomenal. I think you'll be very happy with the results.
So far the song titles are as follows World Movement, Planet Earth, Change the World, Earth Orbit, Earth Shatter, Perfect World, Planet Core, Earth Land, World 5 and Nigtmares 2008. Vocals need to be added to Earth Orbit, Change the World, and Pefect World.
I can't give a date out as to when we'll be done...but soon.
All Right! We've been working hard, trying to put together some more pieces. We have 9 tracks all together now. We need three more and we're ready for release. Hopefull these will be ready next week. After that we will clean them up a bit, mix in the vocals, and finalize them. Hopefully in about two weeks, we should be ready to release the album.
I have to apologie to all of you, other matters had come into play during th production of "Planet"...That's the new name for the album by the way. We haven't been able to finish it as of yet. I know We were planning on distributing a few issues of the album during the DEMF, however we were not able to finish the album nor go to DEMF this year, so it was a double hit. We do intend on finishing "Planet" soon, and look forward to posting the songs here and perhaps on CD Baby, iTunes and a few other places.
We haven't yet made a video, otherwise we would place things on YouTube, but for now, check it out here....We are planning on adding a flash-based song-player so you can sample-stream the songs before downloadning. Keep coming back and tell your friends.
OK, we've put together another piece for the album...It's called Earth Shatter. There seems to be an Earth/World theme going on. We're hoping to put this album together for the DEMF at the end of May. Asif and I are planning on handing out a number of burned CDs on one of the days for the upcoming release. Come by and grab one at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival in Hart Plaza in Detroit May 24th-26th. We're working tirelessly to get this album written and finished for the Festival.
All right folks, We have started heavy development of the new album. Music has been written for "Change the World" and "World Movement". We're debating on whether to include the vocals with "Change the World".
We need to come up with a name for album. So far we're drawing a big dark blank. Anyway, keep coming back for info on release date.
Happy New Year!Ok it's been a month now, but it's going to be such a prosperous year. I can feeel it.
We have started coming up with lyrics for the new ever-upcoming new album. Deciding on a style is still very difficult. We want to use some of what was done previously, but still want to make some changes. For now, however we are coming up something.
Hey guys,Ok we've been trying to figure out how to get the Rosegarden setup working on our new linux box. Apparently you can use soft synths such as Timidity and Fluidsynth with it, but you have to turn them on first before starting Rosegarden. The the idea of actually creating sound fonts from the ground up as opposed to grabbing a pre-designed sound seems a bit strange, but that's the nature of the beast I suppose.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about here, we are basically tired of paying the Micro$oft Tax and have decided to try working with Linux as our main studio Operating System. We use Fedora Core 7 to be exact. I know Fedora Core 8 is out, but when we built this machine, FC7 was the latest Linux Red Hat flavour. Anyway, Rosegarden, FluidSynth and Timidity are music software on Linux. We will not try and defend our decision especially against those in favor of that fruity company that thinks that everybody needs to fit in the same box as everybody else.
Actually switching to this software suite is quite fun. We'll soon be popping off some more music. Stay Tuned.
Hello folks,We're cleaning up a few details with the new site. It's definitely working a lot better than the previous one...as they say, if youwant something done, you shoudl do it yourself.
Ok, We're still working on the new album, no idea what we're going to call it or the theme, we're just playing around with music and lyrics.
Hello everybody,
I know it's been a couple months since I posted anything, and the site has been basically stopped, but I finally got everything sqared away. I was having issues transplanting the site from the old server to this one. How do you like the new site by the way. I'm going to try and stay on top of things here. This site is going to be a bit more dynamic than the old one. Also you might have noticed a speed increase in the site. I'm hoping that it will remain this way for a while. I have taken off all forums for now. I will later add a blog to the site and some other links.
In the music news, we are sorry to say that we have decided to abandon work on Cybernetia. The music coming out was not up to BandX standards. We have however started putting together other music with Asif's wife Shela on Vocals. We're really excited about this...Our direction for this album will be more trance with vocals.
Anyway, I just wanted to say welcome back everybody.
